In period June - August 2008 a selection of about 80 photos by Tom Kuczynski was presented in five locations in Tokyo in the series entitled "事事無碍の世界を歩く- Mutual Arising-case study of interdependence". The photos, from various places (Europe, Tibet, Japan and many more), were assembled as a visual journey and as an encouragement to an examination of the jijimuge 事事無碍concept of mutual interpenetration, which the author finds to be, among other organic mechanisms, so fascinating and important.
According to some eastern schools of thought, the ultimate level in the understanding of interrelations is attained by the concept, known in Japan as jijimuge 事事無碍 and in India is symbolized by the so called Indra`s net, where every drop of dew contains in it the reflections of other drops of dew containing the reflection of itself. One `thing` or `event` cannot exist without everything else, and the whole universe depends on a single blade of grass, the existence of which is symptomatic of this very universe. No supreme authority is necessary in this self-sustainable and self-regulatory democracy, where every being is a King and a Hero.
Creating a mosaic of photos, the author plays with light, shape and color, as well as with the cultural, historical, environmental, religious, epistomological and ontological contexts of the images, trying to visualize the concept of jijimuge.
